some forums it has "donate" button ...This way it is possible to fund a more stable server service, especially in the case of sites with a lot of memory consumption ... 2USD of annual donation is nothing to worry about getting everyone in touch ... but it is not my intention to oppose Nobody with this proposal.

No it seems to be alive. I work on some software to dump data from the drive and import into Octave so I could measure parameters but have not reason to post anything yet.

Is it maybe so that the forum has been attacked by spam robots?

The Swedish elektronikforumet.com was attacked earlier this week by 2
robots and managed
to spit out garbage messages every 10 seconds for couple of hours before
sysadmin got hold of this.

I sincerely hope that this is not the case as it is a lot of work to put
things right again.

Experiencing increased spam mail also to my private accounts last few days.

That is one of the more famous lines from the original Star Trek tv
series. So old, I think the reruns are still in black & white. Early
1960's stuff. Actually, I think the line was "He's dead, Jim", said in
a flat monotone voice, but its been modified in common usage rather like
back fence gossip.

We know it well on this side of the pond, and I keep forgetting this list
goes anyplace you can get an internet connection. My bad and fading

no worry ... yesterday night I see the Kurt messages .... very nice and it explains more than every word. In addition as a kid (but in the 80's) I loved watching star trek. I also like the new versions ... and I know some fans would have to laugh ... but I'm good in mouth = I'm fine too.


So the proposal of "donate button" is dead.

That is one of the more famous lines from the original Star Trek tv
series. So old, I think the reruns are still in black & white. Early
1960's stuff. Actually, I think the line was "He's dead, Jim", said in
a flat monotone voice, but its been modified in common usage rather like
back fence gossip.

We know it well on this side of the pond, and I keep forgetting this list
goes anyplace you can get an internet connection. My bad and fading
memory at play.

Periodically, some tentacle of Baiduspider starts hammering
my Pico Systems web server. I use goaccess to
format and analyze the activity, or just grep on the log
files. Whenever they get past about 50K GETs per day, I
set up an iptable entry to block them. This used to come up
every couple months when they moved to a new set of IP
addresses. About due for the next wave from them.

It was down last night, but is up again this morning.
While it has been down a few times lately, if you look back over a longer time period, I think the mailing list has been down more often.
