[Emc-users] axis position cmd lost

I lost axis 1 the y axis the "position-cmd" and can't figure out how it get from the gui to the axis. axis.1.free-pos-cmd, axis.1.motor-pos-cmd and axis.0.joint-pos-cmd are always zero while it works for the other axis XZA.

Anybody have an idea how the signal from the GUI reach axis?

That is very strange.
What happens if you give an MDI move in Y?

What is the axis/joint scale for Y in the INI?

Which LinuxCNC version?

Then examined again it actually works in MDI but not then jogging.

Scale is the same as for the other axis.

Which LinuxCNC version?
Version is 2.8.0~pre1 and I have modified with gladevcp panel. I also modified the stepper driver but it is the same for all axis and happen before driver is reached.

Keyboard jogging, wheel-jogging or button/switch/joystick?

Keyboard jogging is OK, MDI is also OK but mouse buttons on "+"/"-" button does not work. I have no idea what might be wrong.

Nicklas Sarah Bari et al,
I stumbled on a few _very_ good sites for tiny edms

(many) using real on/off time fet edm power supplies ( spark generators).
some french some german, but easy to understand the schematics and
builds and movies.

most homebuilts use r/c capacitive discharge, which triggers wg-hen it
wnats to
these (some) use real microsecond on and offtime oscillators

most use window comparator servo drives ( classic servo system )

thought i'd drop this note so others can find it in the swamp called

Thanks, TJoseph, those are useful links with some good info.
I have both of the Ben Fleming books.
I also saw a very nice small edm at the recent Model Engineering Exhibition at Alexandra Palace in London, a couple of weeks ago. It was on the stand of the Society of Model and Experimental Engineers.
It all adds to the impetus to move the edm a little further up the (very long) ToDo list.

What is the best way to clean plywood glues off small carbide router bits?

I use small carbide bits to work wood and sometimes plywood. Mostly
smaller than 3mm(1/8 in) bits.
Sometimes plywood glue melts onto the bits. Cleaning them is a
problem. Suggestions?

This is a common problem long before there were computers controlling the
tools.

I use 100% alcohol. But you can buy a solvent that is specially made for
this from woodworking shops.

Either way, let the tool soak at LEAST over night.

I use oven cleaner to clean carbide router bits and saw blades. Works great.

this is a bug in the UI library of AXIS, Tkinter. it is believed to be fixed
in master branch, and not affect the debian and ubuntu versions that we build
2.7 debs for.
If it's fixed I live with it for now.

Honestly we hardly ever have to clean our tools, but we don't mill much pitchy wood, mostly hardwoods and MDF. For us if a tool is getting clogged up, it is because it is too dull and is getting too hot, or the feed rate is way to slow and it got too hot. Either way it usually ends up in the bin.

That might be true on a milling machine. But my wood routers are hand held
tools and I might be cutting plywood or white pine i.e. construction grade
douglas fir that is still wet. The blades get dunked up long before the
carbine dulls. A while back I cute hundreds of finger joints in 3/4"
thick pine and the pine has pitch in it. But this is all carpentry, not
machining
